Chemisperse
Products
The Chemisperse
products are a range of dispersed chemicals primarily for the rubber
industry. Accelerators, Antioxidants, metallic Oxides, etc., which can
be looked upon as problematic substances in line with the Inductrial
Act: Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (now CHIP2), are
dispersed in a polymeric binder. The binder should be compatible with
the elastomer in which the dispersion is to be used. The dispersed
powder will help to avoid the following hazards and problems:
Airborne
dust and ingestion
Toxicity
Poor flow characteristics
Losses
Identification
Mixing problems: long cycle time, poor dispersion, high power
consumers
Reproductivity
A dispersion is
defined as a concentration of a problematic substance in a compatible
medium. Chemipat offers a range of dispersion binder systems to meet a
customer's requirements. Our normal systems are EPDM (=E), ISOPRENE
(=IR) and NITRILE (=N) RUBBERS. A number after the active ingredient
will signify the active concentrate, e.g. MBTS in an ISOPRENE binder
at 75% active concentration will be IR-MBTS-75
A vast range
of products is nowadays manufactured from rubber. Many of these can
benefit from enhanced safety by using Chemisperse Accelerators,
Curatives and Blowing Agent Dispersions within the manufacturing
process.
