Dry
Compounding Services
When
rubber arrives at our factory it needs to be milled and granulated in
order to make it processable into finished product.
Chemipat has an enviable
range of milling and granulating equipment, as well as Barwells used
to remove contaminants such as particles of unmilled or cured rubber,
depending on the products being processed.
 |
Rubber
Mills, of which Chemipat
has three, are used to mill the rubber to a
required plasticity. They are also routinely used to mill-in fillers
and additives which need to be included at this stage, such as Zinc
Oxide into natural rubber to make the compound for medical dressing
adhesives. |
 |
Granulators
are used to "chip" the rubber into small, regular-shaped
pieces to facilitate easy dissolving and to dust the compound with
such as French Chalk or Zinc Stereate to prevent "blocking". |
|
A
Barwell is used to remove any lumps assuring a clean, homogenous
finished compound, ready to go to the Wet-Mix shop or to be
despatched to the customer for further processing. |
