Chloroprene
Rubber Coatings
Chloroprene, of
which the best known is Neoprene manufactured by Dupont, is a
chlorinated synthetic rubber used for its resistance to weathering and
for a certain degree of chemical resistance. Chloroprene rubber
coatings can be compounded to give a variety of physical
characteristics when coated onto fabric.
Other uses for
Chloroprene coated fabrics include tarpaulins, car covers, protective
workwear, etc. Chloroprene solution can be provided in a variety of
colours, filled with additives to impart different physical
characteristics, such as handle and abrasion resistance, at many
different viscosities and solids levels.
