Silicone Coatings

Silicone rubber coatings are used to provide low friction characteristics to fabric and to other substrates. This is useful where a process demands that one surface is easily detachable from another, for example where foams are cast onto stainless steel belting during production of carpets and underlays. Silicones are also applied to glasscloths for construction of conveyor belting (and food preparation trays) for the food industry, where a similar release coating is required. Chemipat is experienced in the formulation of silicone coatings for a wide range of applications.

Silicone coatings can also be used when applying a finishing coat to fabrics. This imparts characteristics such as low surface reflectivity, final waterproofing, etc.
